Senior Salesforce Developer

Description: Reporting to the CRM Manager, this role will be responsible for working on Salesforce Development projects from end to end. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Salesforce developer with extensive experience developing on the Salesforce platform that has the ability to work on their own initiative and who has excellent communication skills.
  1. Work with senior members of the team to analyze business requirements, translating those requirements in to customized solutions using the platform.
  2. Implement solutions that adhere to platform best practices and perform peer code reviews. Typical implementations include custom platform development (Apex, Visualforce), integrations with back office systems (often through the use of middleware tools) and complex data migrations. Experience in one or more of these aspects of a project are a must.
  3. Lead development work streams from design through testing and deployment.
  4. With project leadership, assist in the estimation of work effort, determination of required resources, and set a realistic schedule for development.
  5. Delivering timely and relevant information with the ability to quickly identify and report project risks.
  6. Post-delivery - assists client teams in supporting the live application and perform handoff and knowledge transfer activities, positioning our clients for long term success.
  7. Communicate with other technology resources and with clients regarding status, technical issues and creative solutions.
  8. Because this role may be customer-facing, the Developer must be able to communicate well with clients who have varying technical abilities. Quality is key, as is an ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into a technical reality that is extendable and maintainable.
  9. Have the expertise to serve as a Salesforce administrator as well.
  10. Have the ability to work on projects and requirements on your own initiative.    
Core Skill Set
  • certifications are required, including both Developer (including Platform Developer 1 Certification) and Administrator. Additional certifications are a plus.
  • Expert proficiency with Apex, Visualforce, Controllers, Custom Settings,, Triggers, JavaScript, JSON, and SOQL required.
  • Agile Development experience
  • Hands-on experience on Query, Angular JS.
  • Hands-on experience in building lightening components.
  • Experience with Salesforce Lightening.
  • Solid understanding of when to use Out of the box customization compared to when to write code.
  • Very strong experience in Developing Visualforce pages and controllers.
  • Strong Experience in writing and Maintaining Code coverage with Test Methods.
  • Strong experience in writing triggers with Bulk safe Practice and follow Salesforce Governor limits.
  • Strong Experience in writing efficient SOQL and SOSL queries.
  • Experience working with Workflows, Approvals and Validations.
  • Strong understanding about the SFDC Security model and Data model.
  • Updated knowledge on Salesforce latest upgrades and features.
  • Experience generating complex reports and dashboards.
  • Strong extensive experience designing and building custom objects and applications
  • Solid understanding and experience with various SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Solid technical background, especially around web software development, relational databases and object-oriented concepts.
  • Ability to design/architect technology solutions and work with complex structured data
  • Understanding of data analytics, data mining, data normalization, and visualization
  • Ability to reasonably estimate the time for tasks and then meet deadlines set by those estimates.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Comfort in leading brainstorm sessions with colleagues to determine the most efficient and accurate solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models and technologies; ability to identify issues/opportunities and recommend solutions, ideas and more efficient approaches.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff and management, as well as with external vendors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Thrive working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple requests and projects.
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in computer science) with 5+ years in development and 4+ years developing on
  • Experience implementing and/or administering a CRM system for 400+ users.
  • integration experience, including between different business systems as well as working with integration tools and web services.
  • development experience, with a strong focus on Apex and Visualforce development.
  • Experience with web application development, including solid experience with Java or C#, as well as HTML, JavaScript, CSS and JSON.
  • Solid knowledge of SOQL.
  • Experience of working in multiple Salesforce Orgs.
  • Experience in developing dynamic and visually appealing VisualForce/ pages
  • Experience developing and delivering solutions for real customer needs, preferably with an emphasis on Sales, Customer Service, and/or Marketing.
  • Experience with Salesforce Lightening.
  • Experience migrating Salesforce Orgs.
  • Experience as a Salesforce consultant in the past is a plus
  • Experience with development on Email Marketing platforms (Eloqua, Marketing cloud) a plus.
